What is coaching?
Coaching is a process that assists people in making
significant changes in their personal or professional life.
What benefits will coaching provide me?
It will support you, challenge you, hold you accountable,
raise your awareness, act as your sounding board, and give direction
to your energy. It will make you aware that you are always making
a choice, and that through choice, you design your life.
How does it work?
After you choose me as your coach, I send you a package
with a coaching agreement, some questions to answer about yourself
and your coaching agenda and the initial coaching exercises for
our first session. (Click here to take
a look at my intake form)
The first session usually lasts about 2 hours and,
if possible, is conducted in person either at my home, the client's
home or at a coffee shop. Coaching then usually continues over the
telephone, and a standard format is every 2 weeks for an hour, until
the first 10 hours of coaching is complete.
I usually contract for 10 hours and ask for 50% at
the beginning of the relationship and 50% on completion of the first
10 hours of coaching. For ongoing coaching, I bill for 5 hours in
advance.
How long would we work together?
We'll normally start with a 3 month time frame. Clients
stay with me as long as they are getting value out of the coaching.
Can I work with you on a
short-term project?
It makes a lot of sense to hire a coach to help you
accomplish specific goals or projects. I also support just-in-time
coaching. For example, you can have a conversation with me before
and after a very important phone call.
What if I decide that coaching
is not for me?
You can end the coaching at any time and get a full
refund for any unused coaching sessions.
What can I expect to happen
at a coaching session?
- You can expect to participate in various exercises and conversations
focused on your values, purpose, vision, strengths and inner critic
and what you wish to achieve or change.
- You will create goals and choose how you want to handle being
accountable for your goals.
- You will receive input and guidance where appropriate by the
sharing of theories about change, communication, relationships,
etc.
Do you work on personal goals
or business goals?
I work on whatever you as a client
want to work on, but I strongly believe in a holistic approach that
takes into account the interconnectedness of our lives.
What do you believe in as
a coach?
- I believe that my clients are naturally creative, resourceful and
whole and are the experts in their own life.
- I believe the coach
does not have the answers; the coach has questions. The client has
the answers.
- I believe that the client creates the coaching agenda.
- I believe that the coach and clients are equals.
- I believe in an
appreciative, strengths-based approach to generating positive change.
- I believe in coaching from the heart.
